Living under the two e's of Greece

«Ζῶντας κάτω ἀπό τά δύο λάμδα τῆς Ἑλλάδας»
A short animation that, hopefully, will develop into a short film.

Archive footage, music by Kyriakos Sfetsas and Manos Hadjidakis, a sound recording of my grandmother, an excerpt from an interview of Nobel-prize winner Odyseas Elytis and many Creative Commons photos, all shot in Greece.

What is this thing we call Greece? How to encapsulate this irregular amalgam into a work of art?

In the context of some kind of #semiotics of art, let's assume that the various artistic movements with their characteristic techniques reflect, in a way, the psyche of an era, a culture, the creator or the very fetishized object, that the individual art pieces belonging to that style are trying to portray.

Then, it seems to me that only the style of collage, especially the dadaistic one, i.e. the automatic creation, is capable of taming the waves of this country's rugged relief; of daring to soar its seas.

Ancient monuments or modern suffocating urban sprawl? Balkans or Europe? West or East? Subaltern or hegemonist?
