I'm Maximos — a self-taught video artist and biologist (MSc) with an insatiable curiosity and a love for knowledge. An archive enthusiast, I'm what's known on the streets as a "data hoarder".
I started fooling around with video editing software at the age of 12, with the purpose of recreating catchy, albeit low-quality, ads I saw on Greek TV.
At 16, I made my first music video for the late, famous Greek rapper 'Vdeligma'. Our collaboration kickstarted my journey into music videos, but I didn't stop there.
I taught myself everything I didn't yet know how to do — video editing, colour grading, motion graphics, VFX, SFX, 2D animation, collage, stop-motion...
I delved into the history of film: dialectical (Eisensteinian) editing, associative images (borrowing from Dada).
I have referenced books, films, poetry and my studies in Biology. I left Easter eggs in my art for the bored flâneur — as if searching in a cabinet of curiosities.
I am —always— open to collaboration — for commissions or artistic projects. Always happy to learn and share.
